Oahu Diving

Best dive ever! Professional, fun, and memories to last a lifetime! We have been diving all over the world (including a dozen dives in Hawaii) and found the best experience with Erik at Oahu Diving. Erik is laid back and incredibly professional. He made the experience fun and educational for all of us. We had three younger drivers with varying degrees of skill and experience with us, and he was an outstanding instructor. Erik was the most patient and considerate teacher and dive master we have encountered. Our teens learned a ton from him. They were comfortable and in very safe hands as we dove. He also shared amazing professional level photos he took of what we saw and our family. In all, these are some of the fondest memories we have of diving over 20 years. Erik made the dive fun, safe, and just amazing. We can’t recommend him and Oahu Diving enough. There is no doubt we will dive with him again!

This was my first choice to book because of the reviews, when we arrived everything was amazing, at the first stop the instructor was really intense and had zero patience, so if you are a person who is going for the first time avoid him, I think his name was Walter and if Walter it was Capital that is another story, we were two couples for one instructor and he only make his job, zero empathy. While we stayed on the boat waiting for them to return from the dive, the capital really cared about us and gave us what we needed to be close to the boat floating. We paid the photographer at the last minute and he charged us extra and in my memory I only have videos of the other couple. Our friend Capital have the day, thank you. The good thing is that I booked another place the next day, I was a little nervous because it cost a little less than this descent, but sometimes less is more. An instructor went there for the two of us and I went down without any problem.

I highly recommend Erik with Oahu Diving! I read lots of reviews about how great it would be for first time divers, and it truly was. We had a small group with two separate instructors, so I felt super comfortable as someone who had never dove before. They do a great training in the boat and prepare you well for how you’ll feel once in the water. Personally, this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had! It was such an adventure to go scuba diving. We saw a bunch of sea turtles, a small shark, an octopus, tons of fish and sea urchins. Erik took great photos of everyone and sent us our individualized ones. Simply amazing. Edited to update: I loved it so much, I took another group for their first dives here when I came back the next year!

I would 100% recommend Oahu Diving. From the moment we met Erik (our diving instructor) we were put at ease with his knowledge and eagerness to teach us until we were comfortable taking that first jump into the water. He curated a smaller group divers which gave us additional sense of security 30 ft under as first time divers. His guidance was spot on and he made sure to take amazing photos and point out all of the underwater wildlife. I can’t rave enough about this experience. It was a game changer and my boyfriend and I will be getting certified to come back and do some more advanced dives with Erik.

We had a lot of fun diving with Erik for a morning in Oahu. He was prompt in his communication from the moment we reached out to inquire about booking a dive. We were out of practice for a few years and he did an excellent job of thoroughly refreshing us on set up, hand signals, cues, equipment, and ensuring everyone felt good and safe before we went down. Personally, I had a moment of panic right when I went underwater and Erik coached me through it and helped me catch my breath and feel comfortable before we went under again. The dive itself was awesome- we saw a shipwreck, huge sea turtles, eels, small shark, a squid!!!! and lots of colorful fish. Erik had a good eye out for the whole group as well as our surroundings and made sure to point out interesting objects and sea life. This is a great local business run by a very personable, professional and highly experienced dive instructor. A fun and patient dive pro makes all the difference for an enjoyable scuba diving experience. Good for all levels, 10/10 recommend. Will definitely be back for more diving adventures when we make it back to Oahu.

This was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Erik was very involved in our booking process months in advance and very receptive and flexible to changes in the number of drivers we had booked. The trip itself was perfect, it was intimate, just our party of four and two other people. Very safe and so much fun. I felt very comfortable diving with Erik, and Captain Ken, they stressed safety but not at the expense of a good time. I cannot suggest Oahu Diving more for your first diving experience or any diving experience you're looking for.
